Enamel Doorplate COAL, mounted on wooden board. This one has us completely stumped but believed railway and quite possibly from the Bishops Castle Railway or Shrewsbury & Hereford Railway. White lettering on very deep blue, it has the edge and bolt holes repainted but the rest is excellent.

GWR Hotels Silver Plate Condiment receptacle by Mappin & Webb. A quite delightful item to accommodate a 1¾" diameter, glass salt or pepper pot. Fluted toward the base and standing 1¾" high, it has a deeply engraved GWR Roundel Logo beneath.

Shedplate 82A Bristol Bath Road, oval alloy. A lovely plate with ex loco back and very clear bolt marks on the front. Unfortunately painted in a non uniform colour but this could be easily rectified.

Cornwall Mineral Railway Letterpress Poster "TOLLS Authorised to be taken by the Acts of Parliament". Dated with the code indicating 1874, and measuring 18" x 12". Lists 3 separate sections, the first refers to the 1873 Act, the second the Newquay Railway and the East Wheal Rose Branch under Treffry's Estate Act 2857 and the third the Newquay & Cornwall Junction Railway Act 1864 and 1868. Absolutely original, although in a later frame bearing a 1968 date. A very rare and historic item indeed.

Totem BR(W) REDLAND, F/F. Ex Clifton Extension Railway (GWR & Midland Joint) between Montpelier and Clifton Down. Believed to have had only 4 totems on the station, this is easily the rarest of all Bristol area totems (although a Temple Meads totem, not the roundel, has yet to surface) Never at major auction before, it has deep colour and shine, a couple of chips not affecting the letters.

LSWR 14" mahogany cased Fusee Dial Clock No 5218 SW. A substantial clock with good quality English fusee movement manufactured and supplied to the LSWR in May 1887 at a cost of £7-7-0, by John Walker. The unrestored dial has been repainted in the post grouping style. In excellent working order. Southern Railway records show that this clock was located at Aldershot Inspectors Office.

GWR, Royal Hotel Paddington, Entrance Hall Door Handles. A set of four brass pulls, each measuring 30" in length, having a 16½" octagonal straight and a tapered, offset ends for attachment to the door. These were recovered from the Paddington Royal Hotel when it was refurbished some years ago. Sadly not stamped with company markings so we can only take the Vendors word.

The back shows the comparison between 6000 and 'North Star' together with a line drawing of 6000 showing dimensions. Good unused condition.

McKenzie & Holland, Railway Signal Engineers, Worcester 19th century, solid copper Signal Lamp. A truly magnificent lamp of significant proportions measuring approximately 21" tall and almost 12" at its widest. The front, bullseye lens is a full 7" across. Large pie-crust top sits on the 3" chimney which itself sits on the lift-up top. Affixed to the slope of the top is the 2½" x 1½" oval makers plate. No interior but what a wonderful item to grace any collection, just picture this polished up and adorning the inglenook fireplace!

Cabside Numberplate 9426, ex GWR/BR Hawksworth design 0-6-0 Pannier Tank built Swindon 1949 and first allocated to Banbury. In Jan 1957 it moved to Cardiff and spent the rest of its days shuffling between East Dock and Barry. Withdrawn May 1965 and finally scrapped at Birds in August 1965.

Nameplate CYCLOPS. Ex Brush Type 4 Class 47 Locomotive originally numbered D1673, renumbered to 47087 in Feb 1974 and 47624 in Oct 1984. Named in June 1966, general consensus indicates that this is one of the original, Swindon cast alloy plates. Face restored, back corroded as these plates were prone to do. Originally allocated to 86A, it went to 82A where it was named without ceremony. It shuffled between Bristol, Old Oak and Cardiff.

LNER Rotary Sequence Block Instrument. A magnificent, ex stores example showing the true quality of workmanship. Top indicator shows Train On Line, Line Clear and Line Blocked. Beneath is the brass backed rotary portion with similar nomenclature and below that, on either side, the release mechanisms with the Train On Line Release behind the safety glass. Doubtful if you'll ever see a finer example. This type of instrument was originally used on the Great North of Scotland Railway between Aberdeen and Inverurie.
